Cricket coaching at grassroots level has been given a significant boost with the announcement that Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) Coach Education Programme will be receiving an expanded sponsorship from PitchVision SA. Previously PitchVision SA sponsored the CSA annual coach of the year awards which included Franchise coach of the year, Semi-professional coach of the year and the Hub coach of the year. The new agreement will see PitchVision sponsor CSA’s Coach Education Programme including the sponsorship of the national level 1, 2 and 3 coaching courses, the Coach Acceleration Program and the National Coaches Conference. PitchVision SA is part of a global conglomerate that focuses on state-of-the-art and innovative cricket technology developed eight years ago in the United Kingdom. PV has a wide range of products including the world’s first ultra-portable motion tracking cricket coaching system. CSA recently installed their products at the Cricket South Africa Centre of Excellence and based on the phenomenal success will now be deploying PitchVisions popular PV One unit to all the Provincial Academies around South Africa to observe players’ techniques and identify talent. This will fundamentally change the way in which coaching is done and how players are monitored. The PV One system is the world’s only portable Video analysis software that includes motion tracking, and all the data is uploaded to the PitchVision cloud for players to be accessed by their coaches. The PitchVision technology is available to all and it is starting to catch on with many schools obtaining units which they find effective, efficient and simple to use gaining desired effects.
