Landmark innings for Qaasim

Qaasim Adams and Dean Elgar both made centuries as The Unlimited Titans took a firm grip on their Sunfoil Series clash against the Warriors at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.Adams posted his highest first-class score of 167 and Elgar added 130 as the Titans scored 399 for an overall lead of 117 on the first innings. Qassim was out caught by Basheer Walters off the bowling of left-arm spinner Jon-Jon Smuts shortly before stumps on day two having entertained with some delightful strokes. That left the Warriors the awkward task of facing the three remaining overs in the day and they failed to negotiate them without casualty. Debutant Martin Walters became Tabraiz Shami’s eighth victim when was trapped leg before wicket for four with two balls remaining in the day. That meant the Warriors finished the day on 17 for one, still 100 behind with Jon-Jon Smuts at the crease on 13.
